  • Both Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Tower 1 and Tower 2 have been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED*) Gold certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

    Based on information from USGBC website dated 31 August 2012, Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Tower 1 and Tower 2 are the first projects in Guangzhou to be awarded LEED Gold certifications under the v2009 Core & Shell scheme.

    A dedicated professional team of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou also provides assistance to clients when undertaking LEED assessments for interior fit-out works within the office tower.

    Other environmental facilities include:

    Indirect lighting systems with adjustable illumination levels to reduce interior glare and energy consumption
    Large double-glazed low-e glass curtain walls ensuring maximum natural light penetration with minimum energy loss, heat gain and noise
    Photo Catalytic Oxidation / Nano-photonic air system to enhance indoor air quality
    Over 8,000 sqm landscaped podium garden provides a comfortable and pleasant environment for leisure and recreational activities
    Grey water system providing recycled water for the washroom flushing system
    Heat wheel energy saving device to minimize energy loss
    CO2 sensors optimizing the volume of fresh air supply and avoid energy wastage
    Variable primary flow chilled water system to reduce energy consumption
    Use of R123 high-efficiency and environment-friendly refrigerant with low GWP

    A "Gomic" refuse compactor system in the central waste-collection room which is a self-enclosed unit with an internal odor elimination system offering a hygienic method of waste management, especially in handling wet garbage.
