1. Definitions
“Taikoo Hui Guangzhou”: Taikoo Hui (Guangzhou) Development Company Limited
“Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall”: The mall at Taikoo Hui Guangzhou (address: 383 Tianhe Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou)
“Concierge Desks”: Information counters on Level M and L1, Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall (see Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Mall Directory)
“Electronic spending”: Spending made by way of credit card, WeChat Pay, Alipay, person-to-public bank transfer, bank app, or brand app at Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall
“Original payment proof”: The original card payment slip and POS receipt; the original payment record on WeChat Pay, Alipay, bank transfer, bank app, or brand app
2. Membership/Points Validity Period
1). A membership and points are valid for 12 months from the effective date of membership to the last day of the twelfth month. For example, if the effective date of membership is on 8 August 2020, the current membership and points will expire on 31 August 2021.
2). Membership of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club will automatically be upgraded, renewed, downgraded, or invalidated when the following conditions are met:
3). Upgrade: Members with an accumulated spending that meets the “upgrade” criteria within their membership period will be eligible for a membership upgrade, with a 12-month validity period from the date of upgrade.
4). Renewal: Members with an accumulated spending that meets the “renewal” criteria within their membership period will be eligible to renew their membership in the same tier for 12 months. Point balance will be carried forward to the new membership period once only; the said balance will be reset to zero after the 12-month validity period.
5). Downgrade: Premium, Luxe, and Aria members with an accumulated spending that fails to meet the “renewal” criteria within their membership period will have their membership downgraded for 12 months. Point balance will be carried forward to the new membership period once only; the said balance will be reset to zero after the 12-month validity period.
6). Invalidation: Joy members with an accumulated spending that fails to meet the “renewal” criteria within their membership period will have their membership invalidated. Any unused points accumulated before the expiry date of the original membership will automatically be revoked.
7). Membership can only be used and enjoyed by the member to whom the membership is granted. It shall not be sold, purchased, transferred, assigned, or exchanged for cash.
8). Points are redeemed for membership benefits on a “first accumulated, first used” basis, i.e. when used for gift redemption, accumulated points are deducted from the balance in a chronological order.
3. Membership Point Accumulation
1). Any spending in cash, discount coupons, gift vouchers, cash vouchers, group purchase coupons, gift cards, stored-value merchant cards, public-to-public bank transfer, public-to-private bank transfer, private-to-private bank transfer or WeChat private account fund transfer, parking fees, bank charges, membership fees, bills, deposit notes, and receipts and payment slips used to redeem offers provided by Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall cannot be used to earn points.
2). Spending at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou cannot be used to earn points.
3). To earn points, a member is required to present their membership card or mobile number, together with the original copies of the receipt(s) and payment slip(s) within 30 days of the date of issuance, at Concierge Desks, or register through the Taikoo Hui Guangzhou WeChat Mini Program’s self-service points registration feature.
4). To protect the member’s rights and interests, payment information (date, time, location, and amount of payment) as shown on each original receipt presented for registration must match the information shown on the corresponding payment slip; and the card details shown on each payment slip must match the physical card number (if payment is made by a bank card) to be deemed eligible to earn points or redeem rewards with points.
5). Members must register their receipts within 30 days of the date of issuance; expired receipts will not be accepted.
6). Each eligible receipt and corresponding payment slip can be used to register for points accumulation once only.
7). Members should verify their point records on-site when accumulating points. No amendment will be allowed thereafter.
8). All eligible original receipts and corresponding payment slips (where applicable) presented for registration will be stamped for verification. Taikoo Hui Guangzhou shall have the right to record these receipts and corresponding payment slips for internal verification in any way including but not limited to photocopying and photographing.
9). Any hand-written, reprinted, photocopied, altered or defaced receipt or payment slip, or receipt issued in respect of a voided transaction shall be considered ineligible to earn points.
10). Points earned through a transaction that has subsequently been withdrawn shall be revoked. If the corresponding points have been used to redeem rewards, the member will be required to return the rewards or to pay the appropriate fee for any activity joined as a reward (with that sum to be determined by Taikoo Hui Guangzhou at its sole discretion).
11). Points cannot be sold, purchased, assigned, transferred, or exchanged for cash.
12). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou may, at its sole discretion, deduct from a member’s point balance in the following situations:
i. Any points suspected to be fraudulently recorded or earned by the member;
ii. Any points recorded in error;
iii. Any points relating to a transaction which has been cancelled;
iv. Any points earned by any staff member of a Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall merchant or any related party, by whatever means, through customer spending at Taikoo Hui Guangzhou mall.
4. Rewards Redemption
1). Membership rewards will be updated at any time without notice. Members may refer to the official website, WeChat or Weibo account of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou for any updates.
2). Requests for reward redemption must be submitted to the official Taikoo Hui Guangzhou WeChat Service Account within the period specified for redemption. Taikoo Hui Guangzhou will deduct the amount of points needed for redemption from the membership cards. Members may collect rewards at designated redemption counters in Taikoo Hui Guangzhou with valid electronic coupons. Redemption of rewards is subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.
3). If for any reason a member is unable to redeem a reward in the aforementioned manner, the reward cannot be redeemed. Members are required to present their membership cards and input corresponding PINs when redeeming the rewards.
4). It is members’ responsibility to inspect the goods for redemption at the pick-up location. No replacement will be made for collected rewards.
5). Save for conditions specified in these Terms & Conditions, no refund or amendment will be made for redeemed rewards or point balance upon completion of redemption.
6). No invoice will be issued for rewards for redemption. Confirmed redemption orders cannot be invoked or cancelled. No refund, return, or change will be tendered.
7). Reward suppliers and manufacturers are responsible for obligations relating to the quality, use, maintenance, or copyright of their goods. Taikoo Hui Guangzhou shall not be liable for any claims, losses, costs, charges, or damages of any nature arising out of the redemption of rewards.
8). Once a membership is invalidated, any redeemed but uncollected rewards will be forfeited.
5. Member Accounts (WeChat Electronic Membership Card)
1). The membership of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club is granted to each member on an individual basis; it cannot be sold, bought, assigned, transferred or exchanged for cash.
2). Members shall place their member accounts and PINs in safe custody. Taikoo Hui Guangzhou has the right to assume any person using a member account and corresponding PIN (whether with or without the member’s authorisation) to handle all matters relating to Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club does so with the authorisation granted by the account holder.
3). Members are fully responsible for all consequences arising from unauthorised use, loss, or theft of their accounts.
4). Lost or stolen member accounts shall be reported by calling Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club at (8620) 3884 8388 or in person at Concierge Desks.
5). Members who wish to terminate their membership before the expiration date may call Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club at (8620) 3884 8388 or cancel their memberships using their accounts and PINs at Concierge Desks.
6. Intellectual Property
1). All text, images, graphics, video and audio contents relating to Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club are owned by Taikoo Hui Guangzhou and are protected under copyright law (including but not limited to the right of editing, reproducing, publishing and transmitting). Reproduction or use of copyrighted materials without the express consent of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou is prohibited.
7. Privacy Policy Statement
1). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou shall comply with the laws of the People’s Republic of China (except Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan) in processing personal data provided by members. These Terms & Conditions set out the scope of use.
2). By applying for membership, members agree that all personal information provided by them may be used for research, planning, and communication purposes.
3). Members may submit requests for personal information updates by presenting their account names or mobile numbers, original ID cards, and membership card PINs at Concierge Desks. Members failing to update their information in a timely manner are fully responsible for obligations arising therefrom.
4). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou is not responsible for any disclosure of personal information or unauthorised use of membership points or rewards (including but not limited to theft, assignment and transfer) due to reasons attributable to members.
8. Others
1). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou reserves the right to terminate a member’s membership and forfeit their accumulated points and redeemed rewards if the member fails to comply with these Terms & Conditions or submits false information to Taikoo Hui Guangzhou.
2). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou reserves the right to revise the Taikoo Hui Guangzhou Elites Club Membership Programme at any time without notice. Members may refer to the official website, WeChat or Weibo account of Taikoo Hui Guangzhou for any updates.
3). Taikoo Hui Guangzhou’s failure to enforce a particular term herein does not constitute a waiver of that term by Taikoo Hui Guangzhou.
4). In the event of discrepancies between the Chinese and the English versions of these Terms & Conditions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
5). In case of disputes, Taikoo Hui Guangzhou reserves the right of final decision.
